crysis try out

this is my first model exported to sandbox.
during the tryout with my laptop, i found that if i didn't apply a new texture onto the object, the object exported will be in dark colour. however, when i do it in FBE 's labs, it works fine without new texture.
Also, working in labs are dangerous, since once u finished but haven't saved, the computer will LOG OFF THEMSELVES !! oh my god.... hahaha

9 sketches(axonometrics)

these 9 sketches use 4 to 6 penetrating rectangles, i am trying to create as much negative and positive space as possible through limited rectangles by deducting or adding the rectangles. it is is really hard process as sometimes others or myself will get confused. sometimes, it appears to be using more than 9 rectangles but actually it contains five rectangles actually. i am working hard on the space and hope can persuade people that i have used the correct amount of rectangles!

hope enjoy and don't get dizzy

the finalised model and the chosen patterns

the draft sketch up model

for the upper studio , since my theme is about destructive, a progression is formed to illustrate it. with a repeated geometric shapes to a sculptural, non-directional spikes.

the vertical section planes to show the main structure.

in my design, the upper stdio is intended to combine with the gallery since i think it would be more comfortable and visually connected

these are the patterns that i have utilised in my design.
they represent explosive, insulated and rocky respectively

developed model with stairs but no textures

this developed model is drived from the privious models, with "destructive" for the upper studio of Goldwin and the "rest" for the below ground studio of Piccini.
i try to merge the gallery with the upper studio.
for the upper studio, i intend to show a progression from a stable structure to a strange, unordered sculpture form to show the destructive quality.
for the lower studio, repeated geometric shapes are applied to create the quality.

second draft model with stairs

this is the model inspired by Goldwin's artwork
the concept is fly , therefore the use of dynamic, soft curves and the material- glasses are intended to show the quality

draft model 1 with stairs

this is the model for Picinni that show "rest"
rectangular shapes are often used to create the firm and stable feeling
